Byron Bay is the most easterly point in Australia and is 1 1/2 hours from Sydney or 1 hour from Brisbane by air

You can laze on the beaches and watch the dolphins, walk to the lighthouse to watch the whales, take a boat trip to the Julian Rocks marine reserve, visit the craft shops in the Arts & Industry Estate or take day trips to national parks, rainforests and many historic villages nearby or visit the unique Sunday markets.
