Thankyou - Enjoy the Film !

Although this game was in VERY nice condition 'as received' the black cover that surrounds the lamp for the hologram was a bit battered.

What had been happening was the wiring had been hitting it as the playfield was lifted up & down and it was all bent out of shape and torn.

On top of that , I also wanted to replace the original old lamp with a new halogen lamp from Pinbits

Here is the original lamp

 3

And this is the Pinbits Halogen kit - it is pretty simple, just a halogen globe, a pre-wired mounting kit and some long screws and supports.

4

Here is the reason why they supply you with the screw's & support posts.

5

And here you can see how they raise the new lamp kit to sit at the correct height level

6

I had some spare BLACK 2.5mm perspex lying around and knew this would be a good material to construct a new lamp surround with.

This was a VERY simple little project - all I had to do was work out the measurements, mark it out and cut it , then I would simply bolt it into place on the original lamp baseboard

7

I used the original brackets and bolts and just did a temporary 'fitting' to make sure this was working out correctly.

8

At this point I thought I had better test the new lamp kit before I took this too far as well , now that I knew this was working it was ' on with the show'

9

Sizing the new side up against the lamp

And here is my finished surround.

After I screwed the sides in they pretty much stayed in place rock solid by themselves so I decided just to run tape along the entire edge to hold the top in place.

And here it is in the machine.

I thought this may as well be a good place on my site to show my hologram.

I believe it is still quite green compared to a lot of CFTBL games out there today.

In the end I went back to the original lamp as I found the halogen lamp WAY too bright to be honest and it didn't add the the 'green' in any way.

I am extremely happy with this holgram.
