I had found one of the tables from my youth that I LOVED.

Gorgar is a bit of an awkward game with bad out-lane drains, but it is a classic and truly deserves a big chunk of pinball history as most people know this was the first pinball machine with speech.

Once again I happened to pick one up that was a heap of junk - but it was super cheap too.

In my opinion, it needed a new cabinet, a new apron, and it was missing some PF plastics which I hoped I could track down one day.

For this machine , like my Flash, I decided to completely build a new cabinet from scratch...I managed to get this job done as an amateur carpentry hobbyist over 3 weekends ( funny because there's this 'professional pinball factory' in Australia that hasn't been able to build ONE cabinet in over 4 years ! ) .......anyway...it wasn't as hard as I thought. The hardest bit was triple checking all the measurements were correct so that when the PF glass and lockdown bars were re-installed, everything fitted as it should.

Here you can see the old box with my freshly made box and the PF placed into the new box.

So it now had to be painted, this was the first machine I attempted a re-spray of and here are the progress shots.

I used a mylar type of material to make these stencils with. I laid it over the old box artwork and then carefully cut it out to shape and then transferred the new stencils over to my new box.

I had a sign-writer mate of mine create the GORGAR letters as stick on decals.

Turned out pretty good in the end.

I did manage to track down all the missing PF plastics and this playfield was cleaned with Novus 3 and Novus 2 as well as Orange Solvent, I installed new ABC lane guides , flattened all the warped plastics, new target images including the round blue and white targets as well as a new spinner image, it was re-rubbered, re-globed and all steel polished using Auto-Sol chrome polish. I also used brand new stainless screws everywhere and new nylon acorn nuts.

I am so glad I was able to bring this back to this standard, I also had the legs re-chromed and before the blunder from down-under - Mr " I dont make anything to help the hobby' came along I was able to buy a repro decal for the Williams apron for this machine as well. I also put a new sheet of PF glass on this machine.
