When you have searched for a machine for years without success and you finally find it, you just have to buy it no matter what condition it is in. I had been looking for a Paragon for a long, long time. When I first saw this machine I was pretty disappointed that it had faded so much, the area's on the machine that appear as light pink in these images are actually meant to be a vivid deep red as can be seen if you look where the shooter surround has been removed in the first image. The original yellow was also a vibrant yellow as can be seen if you look around the area where the coin door was removed in the first image. The blue had not faded as much as the other two colours, but as you will see it was still pretty ordinary.
Even though I had successfully made my own stencils for , and re-painted Flash and Gorgar I knew that the artwork on Paragon was way too hard for me to handle so I decided to take the risk, purchase it and hope that one day someone would come up with either repainting stencils or a set of cabinet overlay graphics. As luck would have it about a month after I picked up this machine I discovered a message on the Pinball Pal website stating that Paragon stencils would me next on their list of products to manufacture, naturally I was going to have to buy these.
The stencil kit arrived at my home in August 2005 but I had to wait for my mate who was going to spray the yellow base coat for me, he is a spraypainter by trade and I have always struggled to match yellows so I thought I would leave this part of the job to an expert Thanks to the fantastic product that Pinball Pal produce, this machine is coming up like brand new , so work your way through my Paragon re-spray pages to see the base coat started and learn how the entire job progressed.
