First things first, yellow is an awful colour to try and match , for some reason I can never get it. So a good friend of mine Tony offered to spray the base coat for me, Tony runs a car repair business and assured me he could match the yellow. So I stripped the cabinet completely and I filled all the dings and dents with a Plastibond filler and then sanded them back to flat, I actually sanded the whole machine which took most of the original artwork off. It is always a daunting moment when you do something like this to an original machine because you realise there is no turning back and you have to make it work.
When I got the machine back in December 2005 and it was plain yellow it looked a little glossy but I hoped that would settle down after the red and blue colours were applied to the machine. In the first image you can see the colour match of the yellow. On the inside I only had it sprayed down to the rails that hold the playfield, it looks a little darker in the first image but that is just the photo, if you look at the same area in the second image you will see that it is really very close to the original colour.
I have decided not to try and re-create the black "splatter dots" that were on this machine originally as I thought that it would look fairly stupid and obvious and may end up ruining what will hopefully be a good re-paint I ended up re-painting the raised rear section that the backbox sits on black, as it was originally, you will notice that when you see the main cabinet stencil images later.
On my next Paragon respray page I start by doing the Red Stencil patterns
